Our retreats provide the ingredients for a truly serene getaway and transformative experience.
A Samudra Retreat starts on a Friday evening at 5:30pm and concludes on Sunday at 2pm.
Each retreat is unique and the schedule is carefully customised by our team of teachers, chefs and nutritionists. Below is a brief outline of how the weekend will work.
On Friday night you will meet and have a tour of Samudra, join in on a welcoming circle and relaxation yoga and finish the evening with dinner together
Your day will start at 7pm on Saturday morning and we will keep you busy until dinner at 6:30pm. There will be time for breaks throughout the day for you to take a walk down to the foreshore or sit in the Samudra gardens.
On Sunday your day will start again at 7am and conclude with lunch at 1pm.

The word Samudra is a Sanskrit term which means “Ocean” and this retreat promotes Samudra’s intangible connection between the ocean and yoga. Here you can take time out to reinvigorate your body and soul by immersing yourself in a weekend of yoga and surfing.
Whether you’re a natural surfer or have never stepped foot on the board, if you’re willing to give it a try then then this retreat is for you. A combination of daily yoga and surfing is balanced with a menu of organic plant based meals, smoothies and juices. This is an ideal retreat if you are looking for a weekend get-away to relax and restore and are wanting to gain insights into making healthy changes in your life. You will feel revitalised in your body, mind and heart with daily yoga classes whilst being nourished with fresh and flavourful organic plant-based meals. We will help you develop a yoga practice to take back home, and teach you meditation and yogic breathing techniques to help calm the mind.

Sometimes women need to consciously put aside extended moments to replenish and reconnect with their bodies. This retreat is the perfect opportunity to do this while enhancing health and vitality to your everyday life.
Over the weekend you will be guided through yoga and meditation to help clear your busy mind. New ways to live a healthier lifestyle will be shared through talks on women’s health and nutrition. Demonstrations on live foods and natural beauty care will also feature. A menu of seasonal and organic plant based meals will be on offer and there will be plenty of moments to relax and restore at Samudra. Get a massage or enjoy a nature walk, it is up to you.
You will leave feeling cleansed, nourished and renewed. This retreat is suitable for all levels of yoga experience.
Our signature retreat sees Samudra’s philosophy of inspiring healthy choices and creating positive change in action. Beginning in the morning with a relaxing yoga class with one of our passionate instructors you will then experience an indulgent massage in our Wellness Centre. This is followed by a gourmet meal and coffee in our delicious Samudra café before you treat yourself to some retail therapy with a voucher to our Eco Store. This retreat would make a beautiful gift for a deserving loved one.

We will do our best to organise ride-sharing from Perth with other retreat participants, so be sure to let us know if you are interested and we will connect you with others that have indicated their interest. We currently are not able to pick up guests from the airport.
We teach mostly Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga on our retreats, in the tradition of Sri K. Pattahbi Jois. The afternoon sessions will also include restorative or yin yoga postures. We begin Ashtanga yoga by learning the primary series. This series is designed in a progressive sequence to allow the body to open and find the strength and flexibility in each posture so that it is ready for the next one. Remember it has taken many years to get your body to the condition it is now, so it may take a while to open and undo many years of tightening. Learning patience, self-acceptance and compassion, is a huge component of the practice. The slower the better! We want to be able to practice for the rest of our lives, and once you learn the practice it is yours forever to take anywhere you go, so there is no rush!
We welcome people of all levels of yoga, from beginners to advanced. We have designed the courses for all participants to get maximum enjoyment out of the retreat.
We cater for all levels and all ages. If you are a veteran or a beginner we will guide you through the journey you are on. Special tips and modifications will be provided to beginners, so you will not be left behind! You will return home having learnt more about yourself and what you are able to achieve.
The beauty of the Yoga practice is that there are so many layers. We will endeavor to work with you to help you refine and deepen your existing practice. We are all dedicated yoga practitioners and students ourselves, and we love to share the wisdom, insights and stories that we have gained through our own practice and studies throughout the world.
Yes, this is not a problem. We contact all guests prior to the retreat starting to find out emergency contact details and special food requirements and allergies.
It is wonderful to take time out of your life on your own, and we highly encourage it! We have lots of people that attend for various reasons with many coming on their own. The retreat is a perfect opportunity to have a break from your normal routine, to meet new people and to be inspired by and advance your yoga and healthy eating path.
